Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Polycystic Ovarian Disease are often used interchangeably, but experts say they are not exactly the same. PCOS is considered a syndrome because it involves a group of hormonal and metabolic symptoms that can affect the entire body, including irregular periods, weight gain, acne, and fertility issues. PCOD, on the other hand, mainly refers to enlarged ovaries with immature eggs.
