Leaking milk during pregnancy is usually a normal sign that the body is preparing for breastfeeding. The fluid is often colostrum, the nutrient-rich first milk that supports a newborn’s immunity after birth. Some women may notice leakage during the second or third trimester due to hormonal changes and breast development.

The amount can vary from person to person and is not necessarily linked to future milk supply. However, unusual pain, bleeding, or sudden changes should be medically evaluated. In rare cases, hormonal conditions such as Hyperprolactinemia may contribute to abnormal breast discharge and require medical attention.
