Experts say many people in India may not consume enough protein to support muscle health, immunity, metabolism, and overall well-being. Diets heavily focused on carbohydrates with limited protein diversity can contribute to fatigue, poor muscle recovery, and nutritional imbalance over time. Protein is essential for growth, tissue repair, hormone production, and healthy aging.

Sources such as dal, paneer, eggs, fish, dairy, soy, nuts, and lean meats can help improve daily intake. Inadequate nutrition may also worsen risks linked to Protein-Energy Malnutrition. Experts encourage balanced diets and greater awareness of individual protein needs across different age groups.
