Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major global health threat, causing over 1.25 million deaths in 2023 and 10.8 million new cases worldwide. Drug-resistant TB strains complicate treatment, with only 40% of patients accessing care. Funding cuts threaten progress in TB control, impacting vulnerable populations like children, people with HIV, and those in conflict zones. Innovations such as new diagnostic methods and the upcoming MTBVAC vaccine offer hope for better detection and prevention. The 2025 World TB Day theme, “Yes! We Can End TB,” calls for increased investment and global commitment to strengthen health systems and ensure equitable access to TB care and prevention.
