Andropause, often referred to as “male menopause,” is not the same as menopause in women. While menopause is a distinct phase marked by a sharp decline in hormone levels, andropause refers to a gradual decline in testosterone levels, typically starting around age 40. Symptoms of andropause can include fatigue, reduced libido, mood swings, and decreased muscle mass. Unlike menopause, which is a biological certainty for women, andropause affects men at different ages and intensities. While it can cause discomfort, it’s generally not something to worry about. However, men experiencing symptoms should consult a healthcare provider for proper management and support.
