Indian salt and sugar brands have Microplastics in them

A recent study by Toxics Link has revealed that all tested brands of salt and sugar in India, whether packaged or unpackaged, contain microplastics. The study analyzed ten types of salt and five types of sugar, finding microplastics in various forms, including fibers, pellets, and fragments. Notably, iodized salt had the highest concentration at 89.15 pieces per kilogram, while non-organic sugar also showed significant levels.
