Reconstructive surgeries

Reconstructive surgeries are performed to repair facial and body abnormalities caused by birth defects, deformities or trauma. There are several different types of reconstructive surgeries such as hand surgery, microsurgery and scar revision. Common conditions addressed with these surgeries include cleft lip, and breast cancer.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure that uses a suction technique to remove excess fat cells from your body. It is a body contouring procedure that improves the appearance of your skin and removes fat from specific areas that haven’t responded to weight loss through diet and exercise. Liposuction can be used on the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that alters the shape, size or appearance of the nose. This procedure can be done as reconstructive surgery (to restore the function of the nose in case of issues like breathing problems) or as cosmetic surgery (to change the appearance of the nose).

Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation or augmentation mammoplasty is a cosmetic procedure to increase the size of the breast. In this procedure, silicone-breast implants are placed under breast tissues to enhance the overall size and appearance of the breasts.

Breast lift

A breast lift surgery aims at changing the shape of the breast. In this cosmetic procedure, the plastic surgeon removes excess skin and raises the breasts to alter their appearance. Breast lift surgery can be performed in combination with breast augmentation.

Breast reduction

A breast reduction surgery is performed to reduce excess skin, fat and tissue from the breast. This procedure is also known as reduction mammaplasty. Breast reduction surgery can help women with large breasts to ease discomfort and attain more proportionate breasts with their bodies.

Tummy tuck

A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is a surgery to remove excess fat cells and skin from your abdomen area. This procedure helps in getting rid of loose and saggy skin caused due to ageing, pregnancy or abdominal surgery. It is a body contouring procedure that restores and tightens connective tissue for a smoother and toned look.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery

Oral and maxillofacial surgeries are associated with the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases, defects and injuries of the mouth, jaws, face, head and neck. Common conditions that can be treated with oral and maxillofacial surgeries include misaligned jaws, impacted wisdom teeth and head and neck tumours.

Facelift Surgery

Facelift, also called rhytidectomy, is a procedure done to improve and lift your jowls, lower face, and neck area. Excess skin is removed, wrinkles are smoothed out, and facial tissues are tightened during a facelift. It does not include a brow or eye lift, but if asked and required, the doctors can perform these procedures side by side to combine both the recoveries into one.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at improving the appearance of the eyelids by removing excess skin, fat, or muscle. It is commonly performed to address droopy eyelids (ptosis) or under-eye bags, which can give a tired or aged appearance. During the procedure, incisions are carefully made along the natural creases of the eyelids to minimise scarring. The surgeon then removes or repositions tissue to create a more youthful and refreshed look. Recovery typically involves swelling and bruising, which gradually subside over a few weeks. Blepharoplasty can enhance both aesthetics and vision in individuals bothered by sagging eyelids or puffiness.

Chin Augmentation

The cosmetic operation known as genioplasty, or chin augmentation, aims to improve the chin's size or contour. It is often performed to address a receding or underdeveloped chin, creating better facial balance and profile. The procedure involves inserting an implant or reshaping the bone to achieve the desired chin projection and contour. Incisions are typically made inside the mouth or under the chin to minimise visible scarring. Recovery involves swelling and discomfort, which usually subside within a few weeks. Chin augmentation can significantly improve facial harmony and self-confidence, providing a more proportionate and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Cleft Palate

A cleft palate is a congenital condition where a baby is born with a split or opening in the roof of the mouth (palate) due to incomplete fusion of the palate tissues during foetal development. This separation can affect either the soft palate (towards the back of the mouth) or extend into the hard palate (closer to the front). It can cause difficulties with feeding, speech, and dental development. Treatment typically involves surgical repair to close the cleft and restore normal function and appearance. Additional therapies like speech therapy may be needed to address speech and language challenges associated with a cleft palate.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is a condition characterised by the enlargement of male breast tissue, often resulting in a more feminine chest appearance. It can be caused by hormonal imbalances, medications, obesity, or genetics. Gynecomastia may cause psychological distress and self-consciousness in affected individuals. Treatment options include lifestyle changes, medication adjustments, or surgical procedures like liposuction or glandular tissue removal to achieve a flatter chest contour. Treatment choice depends on the underlying cause and severity of gynecomastia. Addressing gynecomastia can significantly improve self-esteem and quality of life for those affected by this condition.
