Dr Amit Javed is an expert Gastrointestinal, Gastrointestinal Cancer, Laparoscopic & Bariatric/ Weight Loss Surgeon with over 20 years of experience. He performs more than 1000 surgeries each year. He has trained at premier medical institutes in India and abroad and has vast experience in performing surgeries for complex Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary diseases, Cancers and Obesity.
He is skilled in minimally invasive/ laparoscopic surgeries and has been a mentor to many budding surgeons. He was the first in India to perform Whipple’s Surgery to cure pancreatic cancer in a 6-month pregnant lady.

Work Experience
Dr Javed completed his MCh from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and worked in the Department of GI Surgery. He has worked as Associate Professor at the Department of GI Surgery & Liver Transplant at GB Pant Hospital, Delhi. He then worked as Associate Professor at the Department of Transplant Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, USA. He then headed the Department of GI Surgery at Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh. Before joining the CK Birla Hospital®, Dr Javed was the Director at Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj & Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh.
