Dr Nitiraj Singh Oberoi is one of the finest orthopaedic surgeons in Delhi NCR with a rich experience of more than three decades. He completed his Post Graduate training in Orthopedics from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College New Delhi. He continued to work as a Senior Resident in the same institute under the aegis of some of the doyens of contemporary orthopaedics. The rich experience gained at this institute which is at the forefront of orthopaedic training was complemented by a vast surgical expertise as well as teaching and research.
Dr Oberoi further trained at the Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom and Ireland. As a Senior Registrar there he gained expertise in various aspects of Orthopaedics at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, and Trinity School of Medicine, Dublin.
He had the opportunity to train under some of the best names in orthopaedics at the Cappagh Orthopedic Hospital Dublin, where he learned the art of Upper Limb and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery as well as the classical Charnley’s Hip Replacement techniques.
This was followed by surgical training rotation in Leeds and Yorkshire Deanery, UK. It was here that he gained expertise in Sports Surgery and Arthroscopic Surgery of the upper and the lower limb, including shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability surgery and shoulder replacement surgery, along with advanced and revision Hip and Knee Joint Replacement surgery using cemented and un-cemented replacement techniques. While there he contributed to clinical research and has many publications to his credit.
He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh while training in the UK.
Dr Oberoi joined Max Healthcare, New Delhi and proceeded to set up various facilities of the organization including expanding the Department of Orthopedics from a small set up in Panchsheel Park to Saket where it stands today. He has also worked at Batra Hospital and Indian Spinal injuries Centre, New Delhi. He also has been Consultant at the prestigious Sports Authority of India, various National Sports Federations and at the Indian Premier League cricket tournaments. He is associated with the Indian Polo team and has travelled extensively with them. Later he worked as Principal Consultant - Orthopedics and Joint Replacement and Sports Injury Surgery at Artemis, Gurgaon followed by Fortis Vasant Kunj Hospital, New Delhi. Dr Oberoi then worked as Director - Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement and Sports Surgery at The Fortis Escorts Bone and Spine Institute, New Delhi.
